Job summary

RRD in Ohio is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to keep production equipment running at peak performance. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, perform repairs in line with diagrams and manuals, and use hand tools to keep die cutters, presses, and bindery equipment operating reliably.

The role requires reading complex drawings and specifications, adjusting alignments, and fabricating parts when needed.

Qualifications

• Skill in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex equipment and machinery.
• Advanced knowledge of equipment and machine control bodies to trace malfunction symptoms and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical or electronic failures.
• Ability to make precise adjustments for alignment, parallelism and concentricity due to continuing malfunctions.
• Ability to perform precise measurements of air and fluid pressure and flow, and interpret readings from mechanisms.
• Ability to interpret complex multiview drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturers' specifications to isolate malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organization's production equipment.
• Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures.
• Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment per diagrams, manuals, and specifications (e.g., die cutters, web and sheet-fed presses, inserting machines, folders, conveyors, bindery equipment).
• May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders or other machine shop equipment.
