Job summary

Pilgrim’s Cold Spring plant is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for night shifts Sundays through Thursdays, 8:30pm-5am. The role focuses on assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance and repairs.

The ideal candidate will have basic math skills, fluency in English, and 2 years of maintenance experience. Proactive problem solving, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. Safety is emphasized in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentages.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Two years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude to analyze and solve problems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs of equipment, property and building.
• Maintain accurate communication with other mechanics and departments.
• Support station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
• Use electrical testing equipment effectively.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and report to supervisor.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 6S policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.

SHIFT: Nights Sunday- Thursday 8:30pm-5am

LOCATION : COLD SPRING PLANT

PAY: $ 27.95 - $ 30.95 an /hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
• Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 6 s policies and cleanliness
• Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :

Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations

Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English

Ability to pass a Prove It test

Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred

Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision

Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems

Excellent communication skills

Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools

Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures

Flexibility to work weekends as needed
