Job summary

Pilgrim’s Cold Spring Plant is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for night shifts to support plant maintenance. The role involves repairing equipment, conducting preventative maintenance, and maintaining clear communication with mechanics and operators to keep the plant safe and productive.

You will use electrical testing gear, follow 6S shop standards, and perform routine tasks with minimal supervision. Ideal candidates have basic math skills, pass a required test, and can work weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic math including percentages, used in maintenance tasks.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Two years’ maintenance experience preferred.
• Able to operate maintenance power tools safely.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with repairs of equipment, property and building.

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - DAYS

SHIFT: Nights Sunday- Thursday 8:30pm-5am

LOCATION: COLD SPRING PLANT

PAY: $27.95 - $30.95 an hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
2. Maintains accurate communication to other mechanics and departments.
3. Supports station mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment.
4. Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
5. Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
6. Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
7. Maintain shop 6s policies and cleanliness

• Other duties as required.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations

• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass a Prove It test
• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
