Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for resolving daily technical issues on production lines and ensuring equipment compliance with production procedures and process specifications. This includes repairing and maintaining production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure reliable operation and adherence to specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Performing skilled maintenance and repairs on facility and production plant systems, such as mechanical, electrical, building, and production line systems.
2. Conducting building maintenance and troubleshooting to meet or exceed plant and departmental goals, while ensuring tasks are completed safely to achieve quality, service, GMP, and cost objectives.
3. Completing lift training courses and safely operating forklifts and reach trucks.
4. Utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track all maintenance work.
5. Troubleshooting and maintaining production lines and batching/processing equipment.

Qualifications and Additional Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; an associate's or technical degree is preferred.
• Ability to achieve a passing score at the Tech 1 level of the Maintenance Technician test.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, including diagnostic, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance skills.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, mechanical, electrical, lubrication, fabrication, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Prior welding experience is preferred.

Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, using CMMS, electrical systems, fabrication, GMP, hand tools, mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, problem solving, PLCs, and welding.
