Job description

Darigold is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic at our Caldwell, Idaho facility. The role involves maintaining all plant equipment, performing repairs, and executing preventative maintenance to ensure smooth operations. As part of the Idaho team within the Operations Division, the Maintenance Mechanic will collaborate closely with production staff.

Schedule and Compensation

• Schedule: Thursday to Saturday, alternating Wednesdays, from 5:00 pm to 5:30 am
• Starting Pay Rate: $29.94 DOE

Responsibilities

1. Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production equipment, following technical manuals, diagrams, and specifications.
2. Monitor and control downtime by informing production staff about routine maintenance procedures and ensuring compliance.
3. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
4. Troubleshoot and calibrate process instrumentation, including electrical systems.
5. Read and interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 24V to 480V.
6. Understand process flow theories and assist in troubleshooting related issues.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 3 years experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance or an instrumentation certificate.
2. Experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry is preferred.
3. Experience across various manufacturing areas such as production and logistics.

Preferred Skills

1. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, electrical controls, and instrumentation.
2. Knowledge of mechanical machinery, steam, boiler, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
3. Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
4. Strong communication skills and availability for all shifts and days.
5. Sanitary welding experience; boiler and refrigeration experience are a plus.
