Job Description

Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Memphis, TN

Job Status: Permanent, Full-Time, Direct Hire

Compensation:

• Starting hourly rate of $32.60, increasing to $33.10 after 40 shifts (approximately 2.5 months) - union rate per bargaining agreement
• Time-and-a-half overtime for hours over 40 per week - overtime readily available
• Sign-on bonus of $8,000 - half paid after first week, half paid after 40 shifts
• Opportunities for salary increases every six months based on proficiency, with potential for promotion
• Immediate benefits including medical, dental, vision, FSA, and matching 401(k)

Shift:

• Must be flexible - primarily night shift (4:00 PM - 4:00 AM), but may be assigned to day shift (4:00 AM - 4:00 PM). Shifts are typically scheduled for 6 months at a time.
• 3/3/1 rotation, every other weekend off

Relocation Assistance:

• Lump-sum relocation of $4,000, hotel accommodations for the first 2 weeks, and assistance in finding an apartment

Work Environment:

• Highly automated food manufacturing facility with high-speed processing and packaging machinery, conveyors
• Focus on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance experience in an automated/high-speed manufacturing setting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of motor controls, sensors, gearboxes, and electrical test equipment
• Familiarity with industrial safety, machine safeguarding, and basic industrial math
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals

Process:

• If your background matches, you will be scheduled for an on-site technical assessment in Memphis, TN. Travel arrangements will be provided if you are not local.
• The assessment includes a hands-on mechanical skills test and a mechanical comprehension exam.
• Successful completion leads to interviews with the hiring manager, and offers are made promptly if there is mutual interest.
• Offers are contingent on a drug screen, pre-employment physical, and background check. Criminal history is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
