Brookwood Baptist Health in Homewood, AL seeks a skilled facilities maintenance technician to perform diverse emergency and preventive work across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems in a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with trades and outside contractors, comply with OSHA and Joint Commission standards, and help coordinate fire and life safety measures to protect patients and staff. Benefits start on day one.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ experience in trade applications or mechanical work (automotive, industrial, or hospitality).
• One (1) year experience if a trade or vocational school graduate non-trade specific.

Aufgaben

• Works with other trades as assigned.
• Collaborates with outside contractors as job permits.
• Works within OSHA safety standards.
• Requisitions supplies and tools.
• Coordinates with Engineering staff for completion of assignments.
• Performs routine and emergency maintenance on structures and equipment.
• Assists other engineering trades during workload or emergencies.
• Detects and reports faulty equipment or unusual conditions.
• Maintains records to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates fire and life safety measures with Safety and Security.
• Trains engineers in specific skills and conducts in-services.
• Maintains equipment and work area in a clean, orderly condition.
• Follows safety regulations and responds to code calls.
• Performs minor repairs from requests.
• Maintains punctual attendance per policies.
• Adheres to Baptist Health policies and procedures.
• Participates in department meetings.
• Maintains confidentiality of facility data.
• Includes training in safety, infection control.
