Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to help ensure safe and efficient operation of the coal transfer process. The role covers installation, preventive maintenance, and testing of machines and equipment, plus reading blueprints and performing welding per ABS standards.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, and the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years’ experience in construction or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to weld required; must pass manlift safety.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test machines and equipment.
• Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance.
• Inspect machines for malfunctions by visual and sound checks.
• Operate conveyor systems and heavy equipment for repairs.
• Complete welding repairs to ABS standards.
