American Commercial Barge Line in St. Louis, MO seeks a qualified Maintenance Mechanic to perform mechanical maintenance and welding on cargo-handling equipment.

This full-time role supports safe and timely coal transfer operations, with opportunities to advance in a diverse marine transportation company. You will install, test, and maintain machines, read blueprints, and inspect equipment while working on conveyors and rail-related tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-5 years of experience in construction or industrial maintenance operations.
• Ability to weld is required.
• Must pass safety/operation requirements for manlift operation.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test machines and equipment.
• Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Read blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
• Inspect machines for malfunctions and perform adjustments.
• Operate conveyor systems and mobile equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Climb rail car ladders to access intermodal containers during transfers.
• Utilize power and hand tools to complete tasks.
• Document work performed in writing.
• Perform welding repairs to ABS standards.
