Job summary

Department of Administrative and Financial Services in Augusta, ME, seeks a skilled maintenance technician to perform mechanical repairs and routine servicing of building systems and equipment. Tasks include repairing walls, masonry, and woodwork, servicing laundry and kitchen machinery, and maintaining tools and work areas daily.

You will operate and service heating, electrical, water, and other mechanical systems, read blueprints, and follow safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in the general maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, mechanical systems, and buildings.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow manufacturers specifications and instructions for using, cleaning, and repairing machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and alters masonry, walls, and woodwork in buildings to ensure structural stability.
• Repairs and services laundry and kitchen equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Cleans, maintains, and services tools, machines, and work area daily to meet safety standards.
