Job summary

Augusta Center for Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep our facility safe and comfortable for residents at 188 Eastern Avenue, Augusta, ME 04330.

You will perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks, maintain grounds, inspect equipment, and coordinate with nursing and housekeeping to address requests. Pay is USD 22.00–24.00 per hour, with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in healthcare.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance principles in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance tasks in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Maintain exterior grounds including landscaping and snow removal.
• Inspect equipment like elevators, generators, fire safety systems for compliance.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with nursing, housekeeping, and admin to address maintenance issues.
