METRO INDUSTRIAL SERVICES in Bowling Green, OH is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic – Journeyman to join a manufacturing client. You will repair, install, maintain, and modify plant process machinery, facility equipment, and production systems, with emphasis on minimizing downtime and ensuring safe operation.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, welding, fabricating parts, reading blueprints, and using shop tools.

Qualifications

• Journeyman card or 10 years industrial experience required.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications; follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify, install, maintain, and reset plant process machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain production.
• Diagnose, dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble defective components.
• Electrical troubleshooting and basic welding/brazing as needed.
• Operate and maintain plant systems including plumbing and piping.
• Move and position machinery with forklifts and cranes; load/unload equipment.
• Read blueprints and complete work orders with proper documentation.

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Maintenance Mechanic – Journeyman positions for a Manufacturing company in Bowling Green, OH. Apply now!Duties for this position include:• Repair, modify, install, maintain, and reset plant process machinery, facility equipment, and production systems.• Perform preventative maintenance on critical equipment to minimize downtime and maintain reliable production.• Diagnose, dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble defective machine and equipment components.• Test machinery and equipment during and after repairs to ensure proper operation.• Operate and maintain plant facility systems, including plumbing, sewer and drain lines, valves, expansion joints, and related equipment.• Perform basic electrical repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting of plant equipment, circuits, and wiring.• Use hand and power tools, drill presses, lathes, milling machines, grinders, metal saws, pipe threading machines, hydraulic presses, and other equipment as required.• Fabricate minor parts such as brackets, angles, braces, piping, and rigging using appropriate tools and equipment.• Cut and thread pipe and bend piping and tubing using appropriate equipment and heating torches when necessary.• Perform welding and brazing using oxy-acetylene, electric arc, and wire welding equipment.• Maintain, repair, and install rubber extrusion lines and finishing equipment.• Move and position machinery and equipment using forklifts, cranes, hoists, rollers, dollies, chain blocks, blocks and tackles, pry bars, ropes, chains, cables, and other equipment.• Load and unload machinery and equipment from trucks as necessary.• Read and work from blueprints, sketches, and specifications and apply shop mathematics as needed.• Lubricate equipment and perform required preventative maintenance procedures while maintaining a clean work area.• Obtain required materials and replacement parts according to established maintenance procedures and maintain adequate spare-part inventory.• Complete work order forms and required maintenance documentation.• Minimize mechanical and electrical downtime and lost production while prioritizing the safety of employees and equipment.• Clean debris, excess oil, and grease resulting from repairs, installations, alterations, and maintenance work.• Perform other related duties as assigned.Compensation (USD):Pay details to be discussed during the interview process.Schedule:Monday - Friday2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:• Journeyman's card or 10 years of industrial experience required.• Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.• Ability to correctly, safely, and efficiently use tools, instruments, gauges, and diagnostic equipment.• Knowledge of mechanical equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.• Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.• Welding and brazing experience preferred.• Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, sketches, and specifications.• Strong knowledge of applicable safety regulations and ability to work within required safety standards.• Ability to diagnose problems, make sound decisions, and complete repairs efficiently.• Ability to keep current with new techniques and technologies related to plant mechanical equipment.• Willingness to participate in company-provided training to enhance technical knowledge and skills.• Ability to perform physical duties associated with industrial maintenance, including moving equipment and materials.• Strong attention to safety, detail, and quality workmanship.WHY APPLY FOR A JOB AT METRO SERVICESIf you're ready to take hold of your career, we can help you start down the right path, and we'll be with you the whole way.
