Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Camden, TX is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic focused on safety and reliability of mobile equipment used in plywood production. The role requires experience with diesel/LPG engines, hydraulics and pneumatics, basic electrical knowledge, and the ability to read mechanical drawings.

Qualifications

• At least two years of mobile equipment experience (diesel/LPG engines).
• Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic computer experience for record-keeping.
• Basic metalworking skills and equipment handling.
• Basic electrical/electronic knowledge on 12–24-volt systems.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings and pumps; lubrication.
• Willing and able to work any shift, on-call, holidays, weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Repairing and maintaining industrial mobile equipment for plywood production (forklifts, front end loaders, etc.).
• Troubleshooting equipment controls and identifying deficiencies.
• Identify and list parts needed for repairs of mobile equipment.
• Install and align equipment parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and meet deadlines.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs (labor hours, PM findings).
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize repairs.
• Communicate work performed and equipment status clearly (written and verbal).
• Help meet production and quality goals while optimizing equipment to reduce waste.
• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and participate in safety programs.
