Job summary

Heart Hospital of Austin is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventive and corrective maintenance of hospital equipment and building components. You will diagnose problems with the Engineering Manager and ensure safety and comfort for staff and patients.

You will perform skilled maintenance, including repairs to machinery, preventive maintenance, and routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks, while documenting records and assisting with parts orders.

Qualifications

• 5 years in large commercial/industrial or health care facility as electrician, HVAC, Plant Operator, or plumber with general maintenance.
• Hospital maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment
• Execute miscellaneous work orders and answer trouble calls
• Document and maintain records for the facility
• Perform routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance

Working alongside the Engineering Manager, you will diagnose problems, offer solutions, and act to ensure the safety, care, and comfort of staff and patients.

• You will perform a variety of skilled maintenance, including: repairs to machinery, equipment or facilities
• You will perform preventive maintenance on hospital and plant equipment
• You will execute miscellaneous work orders and answers trouble calls
• You will accurately document and maintain records for the facility
• You will perform routine electrical, plumbing and HVAC maintenance
• You will assist in order parts and supplied needed for maintenance

Requirements

Experience

• 5 years experience in a large commercial industrial or health care facility as an electrician, HVAC and Plant Operator, or plumber with general and structural maintenance, modification, renovation and interior construction
• Previous experience in general maintenance in a hospital or similar institution – preferred

Education

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Technical, Vocational or other equivalent education – preferred
