Job summary

Best Formulations is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 3 to provide technical support for manufacturing equipment (Softgel or Unit Dose), facilities and the Preventative Maintenance Program. The role requires advanced proficiency with multiple systems and a proactive approach.

You will perform PMs, troubleshoot line issues, coordinate with supervisors, train other staff, and ensure safety and cGMP compliance in a City of Industry, California facility.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational or trade school with certifications or apprenticeship training preferred.
  • Experience in FDA-regulated industry preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related maintenance and mechanical experience.
  • Experience in gummy manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Keep facility, production equipment and all support equipment in safe and operational condition according to OEM and OSHA guidelines.
  • Respond to floor calls in a timely manner and complete tasks quickly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain up-time/downtime targets and develop improvement plans.
  • Troubleshoot problems and implement permanent root-cause solutions.
  • Complete work orders (Preventative/Corrective Maintenance) and coordinate with supervisor for priorities.
  • Lead training of other employees and ensure compliance with safety programs.

As a Maintenance Mechanic 3, you will be responsible to provide technical support for manufacturing equipment (Softgel or Unit Dose), Facilities and the Preventative Maintenance Program. The individual will possess additional skills, expertise and qualifications over a Mechanic 2. The individual should have advanced proficiency and expertise with multiple equipment and/or systems.

  • Responsible to keep the facility, production equipment and all support equipment in safe and operational working condition according to OEM and OSHA guidelines.
  • Respond to all floor calls in a timely manner and complete tasks quickly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain up-time / downtime targets and develop plans to improve.
  • Trouble-shooting problems and recommending solutions or improvements necessary to restore line operations. Seeks permanent solutions to identified root causes.
  • Complete assigned work orders (Preventative/Corrective Maintenance) in a timely basis and support prioritization of tasks for other mechanics.
  • Complete the Preventative Maintenance Program (PM) including relevant documentation. Design PM’s and schedules work in coordination with the supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment maintenance logs and documentation in accordance with SOP and cGMP guidelines;
  • Identify and complete process improvement initiatives including engineering and construction projects.
  • Work with auditors, vendors, and suppliers as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and critical equipment. Audit systems as necessary along with sourcing options.
  • Researches and obtains quotes for equipment, parts, and services as needed.
  • Lead the training of other employees.
  • Responsible to comply with all Company policies and procedures, including safety programs.
  • Perform set-ups or changeovers of equipment as necessary for production schedule;
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics as required.
  • May coordinate equipment alterations (i.e part fabrication) and equipment installation.
  • Any other assigned tasks or duties may require overtime and weekend work as necessary.
  • Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
  • Perform other job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate; and
  • Vocational or trade school with certifications or apprenticeship training preferred;
  • Experience in an FDA-regulated industry is preferred
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related maintenance and mechanical experience; or
  • Any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job.
  • Experience in Gummy manufacturing equipment

Base Salary Range: $25.50 - $31.00 per hour, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
