Job summary

Best Formulations LLC is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 3 to support gummy and softgel manufacturing at our City of Industry facility in California. You will provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, facilities, and the Preventative Maintenance Program with advanced proficiency across multiple systems.

Responsibilities include keeping equipment and logs in OSHA and OEM compliance, responding to floor calls, performing PMs and set-ups, and coordinating with auditors, vendors, and

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or trade training preferred.
  • 4+ years in maintenance/mechanical roles, ideally in FDA-regulated environments.
  • Experience with gummy manufacturing equipment is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  • Respond to floor calls promptly and complete tasks thoroughly.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and SOP/cGMP documentation.
  • Design and schedule PMs in coordination with supervision.
  • Set up/changeovers for production according to schedule.
  • Coordinate with auditors, vendors and internal teams as needed.

We seek out innovation across our entire business and pass that knowledge and expertise to our customers.As a Maintenance Mechanic 3, you will be responsible to provide technical support for manufacturing equipment (Softgel or Unit Dose), Facilities and the Preventative Maintenance Program. The individual will possess additional skills, expertise and qualifications over a Mechanic 2. The individual should have advanced proficiency and expertise with multiple equipment and/or systems.How will you contribute:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to:Responsible to keep the facility, production equipment and all support equipment in safe and operational working condition according to OEM and OSHA guidelines.Respond to all floor calls in a timely manner and complete tasks quickly and thoroughly.Maintain up-time / downtime targets and develop plans to improve.Trouble-shooting problems and recommending solutions or improvements necessary to restore line operations. Seeks permanent solutions to identified root causes.Complete assigned work orders (Preventative/Corrective Maintenance) in a timely basis and support prioritization of tasks for other mechanics.Complete the Preventative Maintenance Program (PM) including relevant documentation. Design PM’s and schedules work in coordination with the supervisor.Maintain equipment maintenance logs and documentation in accordance with SOP and cGMP guidelines;Identify and complete process improvement initiatives including engineering and construction projects.Work with auditors, vendors, and suppliers as needed.Maintain inventory of spare parts and critical equipment.
