2Life Communities seeks a skilled Maintenance Mechanic II to keep facilities safe, efficient and welcoming. The role focuses on hands-on mechanical work, preventive maintenance, and timely response to work orders in a senior living environment at Newton Highlands, MA.

The ideal candidate brings five years of hands-on experience, OSHA knowledge, and a preventive maintenance mindset. Proficiency with building systems, safety compliance, and a valid MA driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in building systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Preference for elevator knowledge and hoisting license.
• Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Post-secondary technical training favored.

Responsibilities

• Respond to work orders and perform general mechanical tasks including electrical, plumbing, heating, and appliance repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and routine engineering checks in mechanical and boiler rooms.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents.
• Perform unit inspections with Resident Service Teams to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain inventory system for equipment and tools; assist with pest control inspection and follow-up.
