Job summary

dormakaba is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II in Indianapolis, IN to support reliable plant operations by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment. The role involves training entry-level technicians, driving continuous improvement, and improving equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The position is first shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) with a base pay range of $35/hr to $40/hr and mandatory overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience using Cribmaster/CMMS and plant maintenance systems.
  • 2+ years industrial maintenance in manufacturing.
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical diagrams.
  • Familiarity with welding, machining, and precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repairs; escalate PLC issues when needed.
  • Fabricate, align, and install parts using machining, welding, and precision measuring tools.
  • Support equipment changeovers, rebuilds, and installations to improve performance.

Position Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II based in Indianapolis, IN. This position supports reliable plant operations by independently performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of production and facility equipment.The position contributes to training and guiding entry-level technicians, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and driving equipment reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position is First Shift (6:00AM - 2:30PM) with a base pay range of $35/hr. - 40/hr. Mandatory overtime may be required as needed. (Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data). What you will do
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks in Cribmaster, ensuring accurate scheduling, documentation, and completion
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes
  • Conduct intermediate electrical troubleshooting and repairs (sensors, switches, wiring, VFDs, motors); escalated complex PLC or controls issues when needed
  • Fabricate, align, and install parts and assemblies using machining, welding, and precision measuring tools
  • Support equipment changeovers, rebuilds, and installations to improve performance and extend equipment life
What we require
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in using Cribmaster / CMMS system, and standard plant systems for maintenance scheduling, work order entry, and parts management
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent technical training/apprenticeship
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes)
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
  • Familiarity with welding, machining, and precision measurement tools for fabrication and alignment
