Job summary

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Inc. in Laurel, MD is seeking a Preventive Maintenance Technician to service factory equipment, support production targets, and ensure food safety.

This role emphasizes reliability, quick response to issues, and a focus on continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include inspections, lubrication, minor repairs, PM schedule development, and safe operation of equipment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of food manufacturing maintenance or related experience preferred.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem solving.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Respond to work orders, troubleshoot, and perform inspections.
• Lubricate, adjust, and repair machinery; replace worn parts.
• Create and improve PM task lists and frequencies.
• Operate tools and diagnostic hardware; follow safety guidelines.
• Disassemble machinery for maintenance and verify proper operation.
• Standards compliance and coordination with managers.
