Position Summary:

Under the leadership of a Foreperson or supervisor within the Division of Real Estate Development and Capital Operations, independently performs maintenance, construction, repairs, or mechanical work to ensure campus facilities are properly maintained, emphasizing health, safety, and occupant comfort.

Essential Functions:

1. Carpentry: Perform repairs, maintenance, and renovations related to cabinetry, doors, windows, drywall, furniture, and other carpentry tasks.
2. Painting: Scrape, prime, paint, varnish, stain, operate power-washing equipment, and remove graffiti.
3. Electrical: Install and service electrical systems including wiring, switches, fixtures, detectors, and fire devices.
4. Mechanical: Maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment, and other mechanical devices.
5. Plumbing: Install and repair water, waste, and gas lines, fixtures, and related equipment.
6. General Maintenance: Maintain kitchen equipment, fire safety devices, security doors, masonry, roofs, and move furniture and equipment as needed.
7. Safety: Follow safety policies, maintain a safe work environment, report hazards, and remediate unsafe conditions when possible.

Additional Functions:

Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance methods, tools, and supplies.
• Ability to understand and communicate instructions.
• Physical ability to lift over 100 pounds, work in various environmental conditions, and operate tools.
