Job summary

The starting rate is $34.15 per hour during the New Hire Orientation Period (about 90 calendar days), increasing to $35.95 per hour after orientation. Overtime is often required, and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of maintenance/mechanic experience.
• Technical degree in the area is preferred and may substitute for 1 year experience.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Valid Driver License required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals; write routine reports; speak to groups.
• Ability to calculate figures and basic geometry.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and analyzes deficiencies in equipment or facility and makes repairs.
• Disassembles equipment and replaces faulty components.
• Performs repairs or improvements on processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations.
• Acts as millwright for installing and validating new/modifed production equipment; fabricates parts as needed.
• Replaces hydraulic and pneumatic parts.
• Changes bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, and other components.
• Repairs and replaces pumps; basic pipefitting and layout.
