Job summary

Hexcel is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic at our Casa Grande, AZ location. The role involves repairing and maintaining complex equipment, welding, and assembling components to ensure continuous production. Strong reading of blueprints, safety discipline, and a minimum of five years’ journey-level experience in manufacturing are required.

The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. Occasional overtime and holiday work are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a qualified journey-level Maintenance Mechanic in manufacturing.
• Technical Degree may substitute for one year of journey-level experience.
• Valid Driver License.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak before groups of employees.

Responsibilities

• Analyze deficiencies in equipment or facilities and repair as needed.
• Disassemble equipment and replace faulty components using hand tools and welding.
• Complete mechanical repairs on processes, equipment, fixtures and unit operations.
• Install and assure production equipment works; fabricate replacement parts as required.
• Work with sheet metal, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; service lifts and carts.
• Replace bearings, sprockets, belts, shafts and other components; perform basic piping tasks.
• Occasionally work on days off or holidays when required.
• Maintain a full set of essential mechanical tools.

Hexcel is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. Start rate: $40.91 Per Hour during the New Hire Orientation Period – normally 90 calendar days, then increases to $42.14 Per Hour. This position is on our “T1” 2x2x5x5 shift: Monday, Thursday, and Friday (Week 1) 7:00AM to 7:00PM; and Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Week 2) 7:00AM to 7:00PM. Overtime is often required.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Analyzes deficiencies in equipment or facility and makes necessary repairs.
• Disassembles equipment as necessary and repairs or replaces faulty components as needed using a variety of hand tools, and arc, gas, and Heli arc welding as well as soldering and brazing.
• Completes mechanical repairs or improvements on a variety of processes, equipment, fixtures, and unit operations.
• Acts as a millwright by installing and assuring that new and modified production equipment is working correctly. As required, fabricates replacement parts.
• Works with sheet metal parts and repairs and installs hydraulic and pneumatic parts and systems.
• Services and repairs lifts and carts.
• Changes bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, shafts, cylinders, and other interchangeable components.
• Repairs and replaces all types of pumps. Performs basic pipefitting, plumbing, threading, and layout.
• Works on scheduled days off and holidays when requested.
• Must have full working set of essential mechanical tools.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
• At least five years’ experience as a qualified journey-level Maintenance Mechanic in manufacturing.
• Technical Degree in the area of expertise from an accredited college or technical school may substitute for one year of journey-level experience.
• Working knowledge of computers.
• Valid Driver License.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals including blueprints and technical drawings. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
