Job summary

Haemonetics is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain assigned equipment, buildings, and facilities. You will purchase parts, communicate with leads and management, and support continuous production goals while upholding GMPs and safety procedures.

You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and test production equipment including molding machines, high-speed assemblers, welders and conveyors, using diagrams, schematics, and manuals to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates/Bachelors/Technical degree or apprenticeship preferred in a related field.
• 1 year experience as a maintenance mechanic in a production environment.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Minimize downtime by diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment including molding machines, high-speed assembly equipment, welders and conveyors.
• Locate problems by observing equipment in operation and gathering information from line operators.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance per manufacturer schedules and facility guidelines.
• Provide mechanical maintenance support to production staff and coordinate with operators, engineering, and management.
• Fabricate fixturing and modify equipment as needed.
• Identify opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements and implement process changes.
• Ensure a safe workplace and report hazards; comply with GMPs, SOPs, MI and SI.

Job Summary:

Maintain assigned equipment, buildings, and facilities. Purchase parts and equipment as needed. Communicate effectively with Leads, Supervisors, Managers and Sr. Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Minimizes equipment downtime and ensures achievement of daily and weekly production goals by diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, including molding machines, high volume, high speed automated assembly equipment, welder, conveyor systems, and other auxiliary equipment such as case sealer, printers, labelers, flow wrappers, etc. Utilizes diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions, and engineering specifications in the completion of these job functions.

Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; soliciting information from line operators and other production associates, and listening for problems. Uses precision measuring and testing instruments, gauges, and other hand tools to complete essential functions.

Verifies effectiveness of repairs, improvements and ensures product produced meets specification.

Performs and documents all preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s operation and maintenance schedule, policy and procedure and facility guidelines.

Provides mechanical maintenance support to production associates by answering questions and requests; communicating with operators, engineering, management, outside contractors and others as necessary.

Fabricates any new fixturing required for the department to which assigned, as well as modifications to existing equipment.

Assists with investigating potential areas for quality and efficiency improvements.

Recommends process adjustments to aid production. Implements changes as directed.

Recommends and implement improvements to ensure a safe workplace. Identifies and reports potential safety hazards.

Orders spare parts inventory for machines and equipment.

Complies with all GMP’s, SOP’s, MI’s and SI’s during the course of his work.

Complies with facility escalation procedures.

Maintains all required documentation, including production and maintenance logs.

Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or equivalent, required.

Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Technical Degree, Certification, or Apprenticeship in Related field, preferred

1 year Experience as a maintenance mechanic (or similar role) in a production environment

Maintenance experience in a medical device manufacturing environment, preferred.

The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account, without limitation, the candidate’s location, education, job-knowledge, skills, and experience in prior relevant roles. Incentives may also be provided as part of Haemonetics’ employee compensation. For sales roles, employees will be eligible for sales incentive (i.e., commission) under the applicable plan terms. For non-sales roles, employees will be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, the target amount of which varies based on the applicable role, to be governed by the applicable plan terms. Employees may also be eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive plan, with eligibility and target amount dependent on the role.
