Position Overview
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of production equipment at our facility.
Responsibilities
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in all maintenance crafts including basic electrical, mechanics, welding, and machine shop.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers inside and outside the Maintenance Department.
- Ability to analyze and correct problems on a wide range of equipment and support systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must become a certified forklift operator.
- Agility to maneuver around equipment, climb stairs, and go up and down ladders.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends, with minimal notice.
- Ability to work at heights up to 45 ft. on material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Planned Maintenance practices.
- Leadership and process improvement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years related experience.
- At least one year of supervising employees in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience leading projects or initiatives.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of the financial impact of staffing, inventory, and product components decisions.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and support business initiatives.
- Self-starter with sound judgment and proactive approach.
- Ability to handle multiple projects under pressure.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food processing.
- Skills in plumbing, millwright, carpentry, welding, PLC, industrial electrical, robotics, pneumatic conveying, and equipment installation.
- Experience with boilers, chillers, and air compressors.
- Trade school, certificate, or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and relay logic.
