Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a maintenance technician to maintain and repair hospital facilities, equipment, and systems across the McLaren network. The role includes routine painting, plumbing and electrical work, HVAC components, and basic diagnostics of building automation and specialized medical delivery systems.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of maintenance experience, and a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Three years of prior work experience.
Must possess valid Michigan Driver’s License and be insurable under the hospital insurance program.

Responsibilities

Do routine painting.
Repair woodwork, plumbing fixtures, drywall, and plaster.
Inspect machinery and mechanical equipment for defects and repair where possible.
Open clogged drains.
Replace drive belts and other defective parts on machinery.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other machine parts.
Prepare order forms for tools and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
Dismantle machines or equipment to repair defective parts and refurbish them.
Test, replace, and install electrical devices and fixtures.
Cut and thread pipe for minor plumbing and air conditioning repairs.
Familiar with METASYS building management systems and detect trouble with reasonable success.
Diagnose and correct problems in the Computerized Tube Delivery system (Translogic Tube System).
Perform other related maintenance duties as requested.
