Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Long Prairie, MN plant. You will perform preventive maintenance, welding, plumbing, hydraulics, basic electrical work, and keep PM sheets in the EAM system.

The role includes identifying parts, repairing equipment, assisting with forklift maintenance, and ensuring facilities stay in good condition. Base wage is $21.85 per hour with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.
• Complete required training (SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, Food defense, SSOPs, Lock out tag out, Forklift, Pallet jack).
• 6 months maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Reading drawings and blueprints; use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify parts/part numbers from manuals or catalogs.
• Perform basic welding and identify weld quality.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to keep machines and buildings in good condition.
• Assemble, install or repair plumbing and machinery.
• Repair or replace defective equipment and components.
• Perform basic hydraulics tasks and electrical work basics.
• Complete PM sheets and work orders in the EAM system.
• Notify supervisor of malfunctions or repairs needed.
• Assist with forklift maintenance and related tasks.

Overview

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Long Prairie, MN plant.

As Our Maintenance Mechanic, You Will

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from machinery or equipment manuals or parts catalogs (e.g., Cryovac, overhead chains, rail switches, conveyors, saws, etc.).
• Perform basic welding (e.g., primarily tig; and stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (e.g., grease bearings, lubricate, check fluid levels, replace filters, etc.) to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing (e.g., threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair.
• Assemble, disassemble, repair, or replace defective equipment or parts (e.g., change belts, gearboxes, etc.).
• Perform basic hydraulics (e.g., change motors, make hoses, etc.).
• Complete necessary paperwork in EAM system (PM sheets, work orders, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
• Assist in performing maintenance on scale equipment (e.g., portable, floor, and matrix - hot/cold) in applicable area(s).
• Perform basic forklift maintenance (change tires, replace bushings, etc.).
• Notify lead or supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Food defense
• Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
• Lock out tag out
• Forklift
• Pallet jack

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.
