Job summary

Celanese is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support our chemical operation, ensuring safety, quality, reliability, and engagement. The role executes time-sensitive maintenance tasks while maintaining high work quality and efficiency.

You will inspect and repair equipment such as valves, pumps, piping, tanks, and pressure relief devices, and coordinate with production for feedback. Strong mechanical aptitude and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 2-year mechanic degree a plus.
• Minimum 4 years in general/industrial maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with maintenance/process experts.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, and repairs process equipment components (valves, pumps, piping, actuators, filtration, tanks).
• Uses gauges and tools to diagnose malfunctions and disassemble/repair components.
• Inspects mechanical equipment typical of a chemical facility.
• Coordinates with production for feedback on machinery function.
• Uses RCA thinking to prevent recurrence of failures.
