Responsibilities

  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance; troubleshoot and repair building environmental systems including HVAC, coordinating repairs with supervisors.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems; replace fixtures, repair leaks, replace piping, clear drains.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems; replace bulbs, ballasts, batteries, and maintain devices and breakers.
  • Perform basic carpentry tasks such as door/window repair and replacement; furniture repair and replacement; replace locks and hinges and drawer hardware.
  • Maintain indoor and outdoor surfaces; painting, cleaning, pressure washing; extend service life of structures and objects.
  • Assist with brickwork, concrete, flooring, and general construction.
  • Communicate with coworkers and management to coordinate repairs and ensure quality, timely completion.
  • May work in occupied facilities including campus housing, dining facilities, offices, and academic/administrative buildings.
  • Assist in furniture removal, installation, relocation, and setup.

This position is responsible for themaintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and facilitiesthroughout campus.

Work Schedule Requirements

This position requires theability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends,holidays, and overtime as needed, to support athletic events andfulfill the operational needs of the department.

Responsibilities
  • May work independently or with other team members as needed toperform inspections and routine maintenance, troubleshoot andrepair various building environmental systems and associatedsystems; including heating, cooling and ventilation systems.Coordinates with supervisors to schedule repairs and maintenanceneeds.
  • May work independently or with other team members as needed toinstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building plumbingsystems including domestic hot and cold and sanitary sewer.Includes, but not limited to; replacing fixtures, repairing leaks,replacing piping, clearing drains.
  • May work independently or with other team members as needed toinstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building electricalsystems including but not limited to; lights, devices, fan motors,and breakers. Provides routine and scheduled maintenance such asreplacing bulbs, ballasts, and batteries.
  • May work independently or with other team members as needed toperform basic carpentry tasks such as door repair and replacement,window repair and replacement, furniture repair and replacement.Including, but not limited to; replacing locks and hinges,replacing balances and locks, replacing drawer glides andpulls.
  • May work independently or with other team members as needed tomaintain indoor and outdoor surfaces in regards to paintingstructures and objects. Maintains professional appearance of thefacilities extending service life through proper surface preventionand maintenance including but not limited to; cleaning, pressurewashing, painting, and material repair and replacement.
  • May provide assistance in additional variations of buildingmaintenance and repair including but not limited to; brick work,concrete, flooring, and general construction.
  • Communicates and/or collaborates with coworkers and managementto make repairs for routine and emergency repairs to ensure jobsare completed in a quality and timely manner.
  • May be required to enter occupied and unoccupied facilities toinclude, but not limited, to campus housing buildings, personalsuites, university dining facilities, personal offices, andacademic and administrative buildings depending on individualdepartment and job requirements. Personal interaction betweenUniversity housing residents, students, faculty, and staff bothduring and after normal working hours is required.
  • May assist in furniture removal, installation, relocation andsetup.
