Job summary

Gerdau North America is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform basic to moderately complex maintenance and repair across facilities, mobile and production equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, and minor electrical work to keep equipment running efficiently.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in manufacturing, knowledge of mechanical/hydraulic systems, and some welding experience, with the ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Some welding and torching experience.
• Working knowledge of electricity.
• Willingness to work daily and weekend overtime.
• Apprentice level

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures specific to the yard.
• Analyze production problems and perform repairs or adjustments to meet production requirements.
• Repair and rebuild portable power tools, bearings, shaker tables, belt conveyors, and other small equipment.
• Make minor electrical installations and repairs; install switches, pull wire, change fuses.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, mobile, and hydraulic equipment.
• Perform welding, fabrication, demolition, and millwright work.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and adjustments.
• Communicate with operations personnel and train them as needed (lockout tag out, PM, lubrication, REC inspection, troubleshooting).
• Work with outside contractors on complex tasks; ensure safety policies.
• Assist co-workers in daily operational duties for safety, efficiency, profitability.
