Job summary
Gerdau North America is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery, equipment, and tools. You will diagnose, dismantle, repair, lubricate, and reassemble various systems, including pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics.
Daily duties include reading drawings and manuals, welding components to form structural forms, and servicing mechanical assemblies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and maintenance training.
- AAS in industrial maintenance and related certifications preferred.
- Experience with heavy industrial maintenance in an plant setting.
Responsibilities
- Install, adjust, repair, and perform maintenance from drawings and manuals.
- Position, fit and weld components per blueprints with specialized equipment.
- Troubleshoot service pumps, gear boxes, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Inspect for preventative maintenance and care of shop and mobile equipment.
- Tear down, replace, repair equipment parts and assemble again.
- Operate and maintain conduit, pipe, and tubing as needed.
- Maintain records of work and material usage.
- Follow schematics and blueprints at an intermediate level.
