CompoSecure is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic apprentice who will learn setup, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of production machines. The program includes CNC equipment, reading blueprints, and OSHA safety standards to operate and maintain state-of-the-art production equipment.

You will complete hands-on training and contribute to preventive maintenance, repairs, and facility upkeep while supporting safety and environmental practices in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program in Maintenance Mechanic.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• OSHA safety standards training.
• Experience with CNC equipment (training provided).

Responsabilités

• Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment and machinery.
• Perform emergency repairs on all production equipment and machinery.
• Conform to all procedures regarding spare parts usage.
• Follow OSHA and safety requirements, including lockout/tagout.
• Maintain mechanical availability of production and facility equipment.
• Keep daily logs of Preventive Maintenance and downtime in CMMS.

Position Overview

Upon completion of the Apprenticeship Program the Maintenance Mechanic will be knowledgeable in the setup, troubleshooting and diagnosing problems of the production machines. In this position will require working with various equipment to complete setups to ensure proper machine operation and troubleshooting when machine malfunctions, to correct issues.

This program will provide hands-on experience performing all tasks relating to the essential functions of the Maintenance Mechanic position as listed below.

The training includes CNC equipment, maintaining cutting fluid levels and concentrations, set-up processes, maintaining and diagnosing machines and the installation and building of production machines. The individual will learn to read blue prints, handle precision measurement tools, and be instructed on OSHA Safety Standards, to operate state-of-the-art production equipment and to handle inspection equipment. Training will include set-up, diagnosing and understanding of the operating of machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on all production equipment and machinery.
• Perform emergency repairs on all production equipment and machinery.
• Conform to all procedures regarding spare parts usage.
• Perform repairs and maintenance according to any and all OSHA and other safety requirements, i.e.: lockout/tagout.
• Perform all maintenance and repairs in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
• Maintain mechanical availability of all production equipment.
• Maintain mechanical availability of all facility equipment.

Other Important Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily log of Preventive Maintenance and downtime through Computerized Maintenance Management System, Simplicity CMMS
• Maintain a daily work log and EOD/end of day email report to Upper management.
• Assist the Parts Inventory Clerk with proper specs and info when sourcing parts for repairs and regular maintenance.
• Work with outside contractors during routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Timely Corrective Action response and resolution to relevant situations.
• As required, will install new equipment, facility upgrades, perform repair work as needed and support production.
• Engage and support companywide Safety and Cleanliness Programs.
• As part of the EMS- Environment Management System, will meet compliance obligations and accountability by contributing but not limited to the company’s recycling guidelines, proper waste and other environmental performance practices
• Will be required to perform other job functions, as assigned

Physical requirements and work environment

• Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
• Must be able to sustain physical work for 8+ hours on a standard 3 shift operation or 12+ hours per day on 24/7 operation. Also includes the following:
  • StandingReaching and pulling
  • Sight
  • Walking through shop
  • Bending, climbing and crouching.
• Office environment is of moderate noise level.
• Shop noise levels are such that protective ear-coverings are recommended.
• Sometimes subject to external weather conditions.
• Short notice, overtime demand according to equipment or facility breakdowns.
• Repair work on heavy equipment often in a seated or standing position.
• Grease, oil, water exposure.
• Mechanics must provide all industry required hand tools and tool box. Checklist will be provided. All specialty tools will be provided by CompoSecure.

Pay Range

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate’s qualifications.
