The Michigan Department of Corrections seeks a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to oversee the installation and repair of critical facility systems. The position involves inspecting, installing, and repairing plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and components necessary for facility operation. Responsibilities include installation and repair of heating/hot water systems, boilers, circulating pumps, expansion tanks, heat exchangers, and air handling units. Knowledge of HVAC computerized controls, refrigeration systems, and lift station work is required.
This role ensures compliance with policy directives, operating procedures, authorities, and regulations, including fire safety and sanitation standards.
Typically acquired through the completion of high school.
