The position involves inspecting, installing, and repairing plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and components necessary for facility operation. Responsibilities include installation and repair of heating/hot water systems, boilers, circulating pumps, expansion tanks, heat exchangers, and air handling units. Knowledge of HVAC computerized controls, refrigeration systems, and lift station work is required.

This role ensures compliance with policy directives, operating procedures, authorities, and regulations, including fire safety and sanitation standards.

Education

Typically acquired through the completion of high school.

Experience

• Maintenance Mechanic 8: Two years assisting skilled trades workers in mechanical or electrical trades.
• Maintenance Mechanic E9: Four years assisting skilled trades workers, including two years equivalent to Maintenance Mechanic 8.
• Maintenance Mechanic 10: Five years assisting skilled trades workers, including one year equivalent to Maintenance Mechanic E9. Completion of a recognized vocational training program in mechanical or electrical trades may substitute for two years of experience.
