Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd Shift to join a packaging manufacturer in Maple Grove, MN! You will be responsible for repairing various production line equipment to minimize production delays due to mechanical/electrical failure.
Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time employment / Benefits included
Shift: 3rd
Schedule: Every Wednesday + Thursday and every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
Hours: 7pm-7am
Pay: $34.70 per hour + $.75 per hour shift differential
Responsibilities:
Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment to support production operations, including assisting with new equipment installation and rebuilds.
Perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment. Create Work Orders to support scheduled repairs and track parts availability.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment, support systems, and components promptly (e.g., ink/glue pumps, airshafts, print decks).
Monitor plant and building systems for efficient operation (e.g., HVAC, air compressors, chiller system).
Manage work orders, prepare purchase requests, and recommend equipment repairs to management in coordination with the Plant Engineering Manager and Maintenance Lead to maintain production efficiency.
Prepare anilox cylinders and gravures (with bearings, seals, etc.) in advance of scheduled job changeovers.
Qualifications:
Lift up to 65 pounds.
Stand, climb, reach, kneel, manipulate fine objects, and walk.
At least 2 years of manufacturing/packaging experience.
At least 2 years of electrical/mechanical experience, with PLC background.
Fabrication experience (welding/MIG).
Proficiency with machine shop equipment (punch press, mills, lathe, grinder, and hand tools).
Ability to read blueprints.
Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office & SAP).
Basic math skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
