Job summary

Thomas Built Buses, Inc. is seeking a skilled maintenance professional in High Point, NC to perform diverse repair and preventive maintenance on production equipment and building systems.

You will diagnose issues, repair machinery, inspect components, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and applying electrical/electronic knowledge to diagnostics.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment problems using test results and operator input.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment to keep it running smoothly.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs, then reassemble.
  • Inspect drives, motors, belts, and fluid levels, replace filters and calibrate components.
  • Study blueprints and manuals to ensure correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Ensure safety and quality during maintenance tasks.

Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs

What You Drive at DTNA

Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment. Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment. Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Perform all duties to the prescribed standard.

Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools. Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs. The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects. The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

High School Diploma or equivalent

Exceptional Candidates Might Have Maintenance experience in an industrial facility.
