Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking an onsite assembler to perform physically demanding manufacturing duties and assemble components for heavy‑duty trucks. You will operate hoists, gauges and air tools, inspect parts, and follow standard work instructions with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to participate in training and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power & hand tools.
• Stand on concrete for an entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain a clean work area and meet quality standards.
• Cross training on other jobs as required and participate in continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and inspect small components for heavy‑duty trucks.
• Operate hoist, gauges and air tools following standard work procedures.
• Read and follow Work Station Instructions and BOMs.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for the assembly of Small Components (EGR valves, Water Pumps, OCM’s, Fuel Pumps, Bull Gears, Accessory Drives, Connecting Rods, and Jake Brakes. Tooling used for these jobs are misc. gauges, hoist, and air tools. Innovative products begin with talented, highly motivated individuals. What You Drive at DTNA

Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including:

• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy .

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power & hand tools

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
