Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is hiring for a Byesville, OH location to supply core material to customers in a safe, timely manner. You will identify, receive, locate, count, and pull core using hand tools, gauges and forklift as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Understanding of all types of applicable measuring equipment for part validation.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently (option to use hoist).
  • Read, understand and complete documentation.
  • Willingness to cross-train throughout the area.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently.
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes and lifting.
  • Identify, receive, locate, count, pull core and package/distribute to proper location.
  • Operate wrenches, air tools, and gauges following work instructions.
  • Load/unload shipments (forklift license may be required).
  • Use computer systems and reference drawings, BOMs and specs.

This position is responsible to supply core material to all external and in house customers in a safe and timely manner with as little cost as possible. Identify, receive, locate, count, and pull core. Must be able to identify and retain to memory part numbers and core products. Must have the ability to operate hand tools, air tools, and read gauges. This position offers:

  • Starting pay of $19.55/hr. up to top pay of $27.59/hr.* Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential *additional shift differential for off-shifts

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
  • Ability to operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner
  • May be required to load/unload shipments (forklift license required)
  • Identify, receive, locate, count, pull core
  • Operate wrenches, air tools, and gauges
  • Ability to identify numbers and retain to memory
  • Ability to properly package, label, and distribute to proper location
  • Ship core that is required to complete different processes throughout the plant or returned for core credit
  • Knowledge of computers, tablets, printers, and scanners
  • Operate hoist, hand tools, forklift, hand truck, and picker
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Other tasks and/or duties as requested
Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Previous mechanical experience
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
