Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) in Vancouver, WA is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic 3 to maintain buildings, equipment, and systems across the Southwest Region. You will perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Journeyman trade knowledge gained through apprenticeship or journey-level status.
• Ability to perform skilled maintenance on building facilities, systems, and components.
• Ability to assess issues, plan repairs, and safely complete or coordinate work.
• Experience establishing and performing preventive maintenance across facility systems.
• Understanding of how structural, electrical, plumbing, and drainage systems interact.

Responsibilities

• Independently make repairs and preventive maintenance to building structures (roofing, plumbing, carpentry, doors).
• Repair and modify potable and non-potable water, sewage, and hot water systems.
• Repair and replace plumbing, piping, fixtures and related devices.
• Maintain drainage systems, oil/water separators, and ponds.
• Maintain fire alarm, security, and power gate systems across the region.
