Qualifications

• 3+ years of Maintenance Mechanic experience with heavy machinery.
• Experience maintaining motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Experience with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Must have basic mechanic tools on site.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written English instructions.

We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic to be based out of New Bedford, MA.

What you’ll do:

• Ensures the safe operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems byobservingmechanical devices in operation; listeningforproblems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantlingdevices;using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
• Determineschanges in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
• Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
• Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock todetermineinventory level;anticipatingneeded equipment, parts, and supplies; placing andexpeditingorders; verifying receipt.
• Conservesmaintenanceresources by using equipment and supplies as needed toaccomplishjob results.
• Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishingpersonal networks.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

• Must be available to work overtime on short notice.

What you’ll bring:

• 3+ years ofMaintenanceMechanic experience with heavymachinery and mechanical equipment.
• Experience inmaintenance and/or repair ofmotors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
• Experience with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.
• Must have basic mechanic tools on site.
• Musthave technical understanding and knowledge.
• The ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.
• Good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate counting and calculations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
• Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, comfortable with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected event in a calm and logical manner.
• Must be able work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift, pull, or push at least 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed to support production requirements

Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
