Job summary

ProAmpac in Battle Creek, MI is seeking a skilled Maintenance/Millwright to support daily operations in a food packaging environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and coordinate parts orders to keep equipment running smoothly.

Responsibilities include proactive problem solving, continuous improvement ideas, and training on safe work practices. This on-site role collaborates with Engineering/Maintenance and Manufacturing teams and adheres to MIOSHA and safety

Qualifications

• Journeyman’s card or documented experience (8,000 hours).
• Thorough knowledge of machine tool operation: mill, lathe, drill press, grinder.
• Knowledge of measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators) in inch/metric.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform PMs, pipefitting, welding (MIG/TIG).
• Physical ability to lift up to 90 pounds and work from ladders/platforms.
• Ability to work in high noise levels, solvent fumes, and heat.

Skills And Abilities

• Machine Repair or Millwright Journeyman’s card or documented experience (8,000 hours).
• Thorough knowledge of machine tool operation, i.e., mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, miscellaneous hand tools.
• Knowledge of measuring tools such as micrometers (inside and outside), dial calipers, different types of indicators, and measuring devices in both inch and metric.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform tasks such as PM’s, pipefitting, fabricating, all types of welding (MIG, TIG, Wire, Stick) and use of oxygen/acetylene torches.
• Physical ability to work from a ladder or platform, life a maximum of 90 pounds, and see clearly at twenty inches or less.
• Ability to work in the following conditions: high noise levels, solvent fumes common in the printing industry, and medium heat.
