Job summary

Calbee North America is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 2 for our Boardman, Oregon facility. This graveyard shift role (Sun-Thurs, 10:45PM-7:00AM) focuses on mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, welding, and safe operation of forklifts and lifts while supporting production.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, understands CMMS (Megamation), welding skills (MIG/TIG/ARC), and a solid balance of teamwork, safety, and communication.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, ARC).
• Proficient with CMMS and reading work orders.
• Able to operate a forklift within 30 days.
• No safety or LOTO violations in past year.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs and repairs on processing equipment.
• Read work orders and update Megamation CMMS.
• Operate lift truck and lifting equipment safely.
• Weld as required during maintenance.
• Maintain GMP/PPM compliance and safety.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth production.

Sunday - Thursday - 10:45PM - 7:00AM - Graveyard position

Candidate must possess the following.

• Must show mechanical aptitude.
• Must follow directions, ask questions, show interest.
• Must have a good work ethic.
• Must have good attendance.
• Must read and write English.
• Must be a clear communicator.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must know their way around a computer, outlook, word, CMMS.
• Knowledge of a wide range of hand tools.
• Knowledge of a wide range of power tools.
• Work orders and PM’s in Megamation @ 94% or better
• Complete all email pass downs per shift.
• Must have the Knowledge of a variety of welding processes. (MIG, TIG, ARC)
• Understands the flow of product though the process and know equipment by name and function.
• Can operate Lift Truck withing 30 days.
• No safety violations within the previous year.
• No LOTO violations within the previous year.
• Ability to complete all shift rounds and have an introductory understand of what the readings mean.
• Can build a tension knife.
• Unplug a cutter loop by themselves.
• Rebuild a van-mark abrasive roll.
• Ability to weld an ADR belt.
• Annual Training compliance.
• Annual PSM training compliance, SOP’s, 109’s.
• Plays an active role in the PSM RM program.
• Hazwoper Trained.
• Attending PLC training.
• Attending Refrigeration training.
• Work well with others

• Has fewer than 3 points on attendance record.
• Have a good foundation of the mechanical process and the equipment, Advanced hand and power tool knowledge and operation.
• Understanding of Hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, heat exchangers, power transmission.
• Good trouble shooting abilities.
• Understanding of basic electric.
• Ability to operate a handheld amp meter.
• Ability to effectively operate a scissor lift or boom lift safely.
• Ability to operate a lift truck with a high level of accuracy.
• Basic welding skills, preparation, mig, tig, arc.
• Ability to conduct an emergency welding procedure during a production run with minimal supervision.
• Good understanding of the core concepts of.
• 1. Soft water system requirements.
• 2. Boiler water testing.
• 3. Adding oil to liquid ammonia pumps.
• 4. Condenser readings and chemical delivery.
• 5. Waste system.

• Can assemble the Urschel cutter and bring it online.
