Job summary

Carlisle is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a graveyard shift at the Tooele, UT facility. The role covers preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting of electrical and PLC systems, and support for plant utilities and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Performs preventive, predictive and routine maintenance to keep equipment and facilities operational.
  • Evaluates equipment operation and suggests necessary actions when malfunctions occur.
  • Maintains plant machinery including mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics and pumps.
  • Develops electrical/PLC troubleshooting knowledge and applies safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on equipment to support production operations.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and propose improvements.
  • Manage plant utilities such as chiller, air compressor and fire protection systems.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and document data.
  • Set up tools and fabricate modifications to equipment as needed.

Location: Tooele, UT

Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10 PM-6:30 AM, subject to change based on needs of the business

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
  • Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
  • Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
  • Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data.
  • Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
  • Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
  • Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
  • Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
  • Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
  • As directed execute projects on an as needed basis.
  • Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with forklift driving required

Working Conditions:

  • Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing Job includes but is not limited to exposure to the following.
  • Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside
  • Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points
  • Noise of industrial machinery
  • Fumes from solvent, forklift exhaust and tractor-trailers
  • Pinch point on moving mechanical parts
  • Heavy equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor
  • Typically, 40 hour per week with overtime as required. 2nd shift
  • Fast paced 24/7 operation

Travel Requirement

  • Overnight travel up to 10%, this will include travel to other facilities and to trainings
