About the Opportunity:
Our client is a privately held manufacturing company with over 30 years of success. They are recruiting for a 1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic with a strong electrical and mechanical background. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing industrial packaging and support equipment, focusing on maintenance and safety. Work involves following daily assignments, prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, check sheets, manuals, sketches, and preventive maintenance instructions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Disassemble equipment, replace defective parts such as motors, gearboxes, clutches, bearings, and electrical units, then reassemble and adjust.
- Collaborate effectively with all personnel levels, individually or in teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Streamline and improve changeover procedures.
- Assist line workers during changeovers.
- Set up fill lines for production runs.
- Perform equipment changeovers and setups.
- Repair machinery and related equipment.
- Dismantle defective equipment and install repaired or new parts.
- Engage in troubleshooting.
- Follow safety policies, including PPE usage.
- Support the supervisor in operating production lines.
- Interact with management at various levels.
- Participate in special projects, meetings, and other duties as assigned.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Basic electrical system knowledge.
- Ability to provide basic mechanic's hand tools.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds, with good visual accuracy and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of AC 480-120v and DC 180-low voltage electrical controls.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
- Self-motivated, works well under fast-paced conditions.
- Ability to stand for long periods (80-90% of shift), walking and answering calls.
- Mechanical maintenance experience with production equipment in manufacturing.
- Ability to lift and move 40-60 lbs.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet fast-paced goals and standards.
