Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Lead/Senior Mechanic - 1st shift

Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for troubleshooting various systems including Advanced Pneumatic, Basic Hydraulic, AC/DC Electrical, Automation (PLC and Instrumentation), Machining, and Mechanical Systems on all Process and Packaging Equipment. Maintains and repairs equipment efficiently in a fast-paced, high-production environment, managing multiple mechanical, electrical, and administrative tasks.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances.
2. Perform routine electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on process and packaging equipment.
3. Conduct Preventative and Predictive Maintenance on Process & Packaging Equipment with minimal supervision.
4. Communicate effectively with Operators, Peers, Supervisors, and Management daily.
5. Support team initiatives and complete additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
6. Follow all safety procedures including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Confined Space, and GMP requirements to ensure machinery uptime and safety.

Education/Training Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Degree/Trade Certification or 4-6 years of equivalent hands-on work experience (90% practical, 10% administrative).
• Preferred: Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Fundamental understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics, and Mechanical Drawings for troubleshooting at the component level.
• Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical components using basic test equipment.
• Flexibility to support production needs, including on-call and Saturday work.
• Willingness to develop technical skills, including advanced AC/AC Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics, Mechanical Drawings, and blueprints.
• Technical certifications in Welding, Machining, Fabrication, and Blueprint Interpretation are a plus.
• PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
• Physical ability to lift 10-50 lbs., push/pull 50-200 lbs., and perform tasks requiring gripping, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to work at heights, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods.

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly wage: $24.00 to $26.00, based on experience.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days, paid holidays, and vacation pay.
