Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep plant equipment running at peak performance on a first or second shift in Waverly, IA.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, read manuals, and keep precise records, with safety and OSHA standards guiding all work. The role offers Monday–Friday schedule and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read maintenance manuals and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues using testing procedures.
  • Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble equipment.
  • Identify and order needed parts via supervisor requests.
  • Learn new technologies to stay efficient.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Keep work areas clean and in compliance with OSHA.
  • Support production with overtime when needed.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.

Maintenance Technician

1st or 2nd shift available

Monday - Friday

$35-$40/hr depending on experience

We’re looking for a hands‑on, reliable Maintenance Technician to join our client's team and help keep equipment running at peak performance. If you enjoy troubleshooting, repairing machinery, and working in a clean, safe, and organized environment, this could be a great fit for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs

  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues using proper testing procedures and safe work practices.

  • Repair or replace defective parts, dismantling and reassembling equipment to original specifications.

  • Identify and order needed parts, submitting requests to your supervisor in a timely manner.

  • Learn new technologies and tools to stay efficient and up‑to‑date.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company and OSHA safety standards.

  • Support production needs by working overtime or alternate shifts when required.

  • Operate forklifts and other company equipment as needed.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machine geometry, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance manuals, and technical documents.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to identify root causes of mechanical issues.

  • Good planning, organization, and time‑management abilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent experience.

Physical & Work Environment
  • Regular walking, bending, and occasional desk work.

  • Handling large parts using lifting devices and precision measuring tools.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Work near moving mechanical parts with exposure to moderate noise and occasional fumes or airborne particles.
