Primary Function

The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative, maintenance, and repairs of large manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, etc.).

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Perform preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines (cleaning, oiling, lubricating, changing belts, etc.) to keep machines in optimal working condition.
  • Identify root cause of unexpected breakdowns and repair quickly to reduce downtime.
  • Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts; order and install replacement parts as needed.
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed.
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and otherwise maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Collaborate with department heads regarding new products and required modifications; design and implement modifications and test runs; confer with product manager to review test results and make adjustments.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all mandatory areas to promote a zero-accident culture.
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, etc. to diagnose problems.
  • Good computer literacy; able to enter work records in appropriate program.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely, professional manner; multi‑lingual strongly preferred.
  • Ability to handle and resolve most issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize projects, plan, and pay high attention to detail.
  • Strong customer‑centric attitude, high energy level, and sense of urgency.
Safety Requirements
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Wear required protective equipment in all mandatory areas.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend, or as business needs require).
  • Work in cold/humid or hot/dusty environments as needed.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, crawling, stooping, kneeling.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Visually inspect machines.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
