Job summary

Maker's Pride is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (1:45PM–10:15PM, Mon–Fri plus alternating weekends) in Minnesota. The role covers mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and documentation of PMs.

Starting pay is $31.05 per hour with a $0.75 shift differential. Benefits include health/dental/vision, FSA, disability, holidays and vacation, plus 401k and wellness programs beginning on day 90.

Qualifications

• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Able to communicate with Maintenance Manager and line staff.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication; knowledge of 3-phase electrical and motor controls.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance according to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations and report issues to maintenance manager.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and work order systems (EAM).
• Perform work safely and follow GMP requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. Perform regular preventive maintenance which also includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

2nd Shift: 1:45PM to 10:15PM - Monday through Friday + Every other Weekends

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make-adjustments.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those unusual situations to the maintenance manager.
• Utilizing Microsoft Office, as well as work order systems. (EAM)
• Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technician Level II

Experience with basic electrical systems (starters fuses, contacts, relays) experience with compressors systems, air cylinders, sensors, hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, pressure cylinders). Building maintenance (small installations, light fixtures, plumbing, boilers).

Technician Level III:

Experience with advanced electrical (resolving electrical issues, reading and writing electrical diagrams, reading mechanical blueprints, building small panels. basic PLC’s (check inputs, outputs, understand ladder diagrams, basic drive programming (Powerflex 525) basic machining, fabricating, welding. Understand thermocouple operation & tuning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
• Able to communicate and take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
• Attention to detail.
• Legible record-keeping and data entry skills.
• Must be highly motivated, flexible and have creative problem-solving abilities.
• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Welding and fabrication, full understanding of 3 Phase electrical, three phase motor controls. Troubleshoot control systems inputs & outputs.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment - exposure to a variety of machines, noise levels, and varying temperatures.
• Depending on which location, our environments can be very warm or refrigerated.
• Team environment - must be able to work well with others and communicate in a respectful and professional manner.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• May be required to work weekend and night hours to fill in as needed.
• Ability to work in high temperatures up to 120 degrees for short periods of time.

Starting Pay: Maintenance Technician $31.05 /hr., a shift differential of $0.75 is offered for this 2nd shift opportunity. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees including health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the 90th day of employment.
