Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, lubrication, inspections to minimize downtime.
  • Fabricate, repair, and replace machine components using manual equipment.
  • Read blueprints, interpret technical drawings and meet quality specs.
  • Assist in tearing down and rebuilding equipment and parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to improve reliability.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to support the maintenance, repair, rebuilding, and continuous improvement of production equipment. This hands-on position is responsible for fabricating precision replacement parts, rebuilding machinery, and assisting with preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate has a strong machining background, enjoys troubleshooting mechanical equipment, and works well in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance
  • Perform routine lubrication, greasing, and mechanical inspections of production equipment.
  • Identify worn or damaged components and recommend or complete repairs.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Precision Machining & Fabrication
  • Fabricate, repair, and replace machine components using manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, welders, and related equipment.
  • Build and repair machine guards and other protective components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
  • Produce precision components that meet required specifications and quality standards.
Machine Rebuilding
  • Assist in tearing down and rebuilding eyelet machines and other production equipment.
  • Support equipment upgrades and modernization efforts.
  • Manufacture replacement parts as needed to support maintenance activities.
Equipment Experience (Preferred)

Experience with the following equipment is a plus:

  • ICOP eyelet machines
  • Multiple transfer presses
Team Support
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Share knowledge and assist in training less experienced team members as needed.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education
  • Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience
  • 5+ years of industrial machining and mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment and fabricating precision components.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Precision measurement and metrology.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment repair.
  • Preventative maintenance practices.
  • Safe operation of machine shop equipment.
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience preferred.
