Job Summary

Position responsible all phases of maintenance duties in the repair, alteration of buildings, equipment facilities and for physical plant operation. Leads and trains lesser experienced Engineering staff.

Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED License/Certifications: (None) Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum 3 years hospital maintenance experience or similar experience within a recognized mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, electronics, general construction trade skill/military experience. Ability to read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions. Principal Accountabilities

Performs a variety of routine standard servicing/repair operations to maintain hospital buildings, equipment, furnishing, fixtures and ground in proper condition as directed. Performs urgent, corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required; performs preventative maintenance on equipment and physical structures as required, maintaining related records. Maintains and repairs HV/AC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
