Duties And Responsibilities
This position will troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain all equipment involved in running production at a high‑speed, state‑of‑the‑art metal packaging manufacturing facility. Duties include operating equipment, identifying spoilage areas and taking appropriate corrective action, developing standard operating procedures, training staff on equipment operation, and reinforcing all safety procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ working experience in a manufacturing setting
- An associate’s or technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (journeyman card, technical license, etc.)
- Strong proven experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment rebuild
- Experience using controls and settings on high‑speed automated equipment
- High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related tools
- Strong math and computer skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications
- Effective communication skills and a teamwork orientation
- Owning a basic set of tools
- Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening
Preferred Requirements
- An associate’s or technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (state electrical license, journeyman license, etc.)
- Working experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
- Sit, stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl regularly
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close, distance, color vision and ability to adjust focus are required
Working Conditions
- Work in a plant environment and sometimes in a typical office setting
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
- Exposure to a wide range of temperatures
- Noise level frequently loud
