Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paints Company is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to maintain, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment and plant utility systems across all departments in Temple, TX. This 2nd shift role from 2:00 PM to 10:15 PM offers full-time benefits and opportunities for hands-on maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, and improvements in production efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance or skilled trades experience.
• Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background.
• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley preferred).
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work independently.
• Basic computer skills; CMMS experience a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on belts, piping, filters, mixers, conveyors, valves, bearings, and seals
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to resolve and prevent issues
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics, and production equipment
• Install and service control devices, sensors, and motor control systems
• Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred) and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
• Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
• Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
